The inspiration for First Shiguangli came from the idea of a city as an island. Shanhejinyuan took this concept and gave it a literary twist, envisioning the city as an island of books. This innovative idea led to the creation of a "de-sales" sales office, where time seems to slow down, and the heart can explore a book island at its own pace.
What sets First Shiguangli apart is its unique blend of form and function. Shanhejinyuan has combined a bookstore with a sales office, creating a composite space concept. A beam of light injected into the space refracts to form a book island located in the bustling city. The light and text converge into a flat boat, slowly flowing in space to explore. The quiet space, hidden in the bustling city, becomes a unique cave.
The realization of this design was made possible through the use of metal, which forms the "Light of Life". The design specifications include a size of Diameter 1450mm x Height 2700mm. This innovative space concept incorporates elements of art, humanities, and a book bar.
The project began in Beijing in January 2019 and was completed in May 2021. The underlying research for the design was focused on creating composite functional spaces in "sales" buildings. The aim was to make the project more useful and less utilitarian, allowing people to naturally expand their understanding and appreciation of the project through a variety of colorful sales experiences.
The main challenge in creating First Shiguangli was the development and production of innovative products. The creative process involved the use of optical illusion effect space, which required a refined production process. The result was a series of sub-productions that contributed to the final product.
In conclusion, Shanhejinyuan's First Shiguangli is a testament to the power of innovative design. It is a space that reflects a book island located in the bustling city, showcasing people's wisdom, culture, and spiritual power in a dynamic way. The design is a tribute to the history and cultural overlap of the region, resonating with the urban living space. It is a defining aesthetic of an era, pushing the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology, and contributing to societal wellbeing.
